Program Night — Tapestry is a Journey, Sherri Woodard Coffey

Sherri Woodard Coffey began weaving fabrics for sewing. When she decided to make a saddle blanket for her father, a weft-faced weaver was born. Coffey’s handwoven tapestries are created from hand-dyed fibers and inspired by a diverse list of ancient and contemporary cultures that express themselves through color, abstraction, and geometry.
During the program, she will discuss some of her favorite tapestry weavers and teachers, the journey to figuring out techniques, her favorite go-to structures, choosing colors, and finishing.
We are hoping to resume Hands-on Meetings!
