General Guild Meetings
Our meetings consist of three official guild-offered monthly events: First Saturday, Program Night, and Meet-Up Night. The rest are member-run study groups and special events.
First Saturday meetings are held on the 1st Saturday of every month except August, at the Northwest Recreation Center, 913 Northland Dr, from Noon until 2 p.m. There is no First Saturday meeting in August.
Saturday meetings are in-person only and sometimes have a theme to them.
Program Night is our longest running meeting, dating back to the 1970s. It is held on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. via Zoom. There is no Program Night in August.
Program Nights are usually invited speakers from around the world. With the exception of June for our annual business meeting and potluck, and December, which is our annual party, Program Nights are held online only.
Meet-Up Night is the 4th Thursday of every month at the Austin Recreation Center, 1301 Shoal Creek Blvd, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There are also no Meet-Up Nights in August, November or December.
Hands-on night is in-person only. Members often bring spinning, knitting and crochet to the meeting. Our librarian attends, so members can check out books.
Non-members are welcome to any meeting to check us out!
Study Groups
We have several study groups. In general, they have met during the day at a member’s house. Some are currently being held only over Zoom. Some are both. It entirely depends on the group itself. Physical locations or zoom links might be posted in our Googlegroup, listed in the calendar, published in the guild newsletter, or simply shared with group members. Contact a study group leader or member to join.

3rd Thursday of every month at 1 p.m. — “Color Play” weaving study group
3rd Saturday of every month at 1 p.m. – Natural dye study group
4th Saturday of every month at 1 p.m. — “Spin-In”, spinning together in a casual, virtual get-together
