1-3 pm over Zoom
See GoogleGroup for Zoom link
The SHARE workshop is a WSSA tradition going back to an ice storm in 2014. It’s a way for WSSA members to share their knowledge and also help newcomers and beginners to get started. We met at a library until… well things got weird. So now we will do it over Zoom. The resilience of WSSA members is always impressive.
This Zoom SHARE workshop will be a forum to help with any weaving or spinning challenges that you want to discuss. This first one will be meeting on Saturday, February 19th from 1 to 3 pm, and we may have more if you all want to.
Please join us to ask or answer questions, pipe in with suggestions, see what others have been up to with their craft, or just lurk for the fun of it! We can set up break out rooms for anyone needing more in depth help. It’s surprising how much you can learn over Zoom. Our spinning group has been really successful and Marie has been teaching beginning weaving over Zoom. Bring your skills to share, your spinning questions, your warping questions (rigid heddle or shaft loom), questions on how to read a draft, about weave structures, yarns, fibers, your selvedges, mysterious equipment, or whatever you need.
Without our in person meetings, we have lost some of our opportunity to share solutions to weaving and spinning challenges which naturally occurred during our gathering times. That tradition has continued in our Zoom meetings to some extent. A favorite part of our study groups is the wide range of questions that pop up on all kinds of fiber topics. Sometimes they are even related to the study group discussion – but usually not! So join us on February 19th to ask, look and learn with us!
