Tapestry Weaving is a combination of weaving and storytelling. WSSA’s own Kissiah Carlson will teach us basic techniques for this ancient form of pictorial textile creation. Join us to learn the basics and get started on your woven story! (This has been rescheduled from February, it is not a repeat.)
Hands-on Night
July 27, 2017
7 – 9 PM
Austin Recreation Center
1301 Shoal Creek Blvd
Austin, TX 78701-1790
Weaving 101 will take an in-depth look at color & weave, following up from our color session last year. This is all done on plain weave so weavers of all levels of experience can learn how color behaves when woven up. The spinning circle will be active as usual and the library will be open for reading or checking out of materials. If you have any other projects you’d like to work on, feel free to bring them instead, the more the merrier.
