Program Night — Finishing Techniques for Handwovens and Board Election

Finishing is something to think about before you start weaving! How you choose to finish will affect your warp length, your hem weft and possibly your hem treadling.
We will cover hemming, knots, woven edges, twined edges, beaded edges, bound edges and of course we will talk about warp protection and weft protection. Many of the ideas we will cover will apply to crocheting and knitting.
July is also the meeting when we elect new officers. At our June picnic the nominations committee recommendations for the 2019-2020 board were accepted for presentation to the Guild, so our slate includes: Allison Wetzel, President; Fran Gale, Vice President; Theresa Harkins, Treasurer; Cindy DuPutron, Secretary; Inga Marie Carmel, Membership; Liz Arthur, Communications; Sue Morton, Assets—Equipment; Becky Johnson, Assets-Library; and Mickey Stam, At-Large Member. There were no nominations from the floor.
Come at 6:30 pm for socializing, with the meeting starting at 7:00 pm. Remember to bring your show and tell! Look forward to seeing you there.

The spinning circle will be active as usual and the library will be open for reading or checking out of materials. If you have any other projects you’d like to work on, feel free to bring them instead, the more the merrier.
