Program Night – The History of Cotton, Jill Hilbrook of Brookmore Creations

Jill Hilbrook of Brookmore Creations will be speaking on “The History of Cotton”. Jill is an expert cotton spinner, and has extensively researched the history of the fiber and written an ebook called All About Cotton.
The following Friday morning she will provide general beginner spinning instruction, which includes playing with wool, drafting, twisting and spinning a spindle. The goal is to have fun and learn new skills.
Then on Friday afternoon, she will begin “Comprehensive Cotton Spinning,” which includes techniques for spinning cotton, adjusting the spinning wheel for cotton, preparing and carding cotton, making punis, spinning on a Takhli spindle, spinning the long draw and plying.
