Program Night – Network Drafting, Meg Wilson
February 14, 2019
6:30 pm to 9:00 pm
Northwest Recreation Center
2913 Northland Dr.
Austin, TX 78731
Network drafting is a method for creating designs with curves. Madelyn van der Hoogt says, it is “plotting a threading and treading sequence on a grid build of regularly repeating initials. The resulting fabrics usually show large, complex, often curvy designs in which ‘pattern’ and ‘background’ areas are not clearly distinct.” At Thursday’s meeting I will demystify network drafting and demonstrate how to do it. Everyone will have a chance, through a hands-on exercise, to learn how to turn a straight draft twill into one or more networked drafts.
Come at 6:30 pm for socializing, with the meeting starting at 7:00 pm. Remember to bring your show and tell! Look forward to seeing you there.
