Travel with Deb to Southeast Asia and learn about the simple looms used to create intricate patterns. We’ll compare looms in Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Burma. We’ll also look at how reeds are handmade to order and learn about making heddles by hand. Deb will have sample textiles that you can actually touch!! This program is the result of 2000 and 2002 Research Expedition Program with the University of California – Davis, and independent trips in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007.
We open the doors at 6:30 pm for visiting and checking out what people have brought to share. Short business meeting and program start at 7:00 pm. Remember to bring your show and tell!

We will have a work session for WEST. We’re putting together a perpetual calendar and will use the time to assemble and put in the sample weavings.
The spinning circle will be active as usual and the library will be open for reading or checking out of materials. If you have any other projects you’d like to work on, feel free to bring them instead, the more the merrier. Weaving 101 will not be meeting. We’ll be helping with the calendar project instead.
